2016 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa D'Este

"Back to the future, the journey continues"

Imagine a sunny spring morning at the shores of Lake Como in Italy. Just as you think your Saturday could not get any better, it is about to do just that. The idyllic town of Cernobbio hosts the prestigious Concorso d'Eleganza Villa D'Este, which is one of the world’s most exclusive classic car events.

As you enter the grounds of Hotel Villa d’Este you are transported into another era where enthusiastic car collectors proudly show off their rare gems. While cars in different categories are awarded prizes by the jury throughout the day, the stylish, beautiful and eccentric mingle and share their stories over a glass of champagne.

The party continues on Sunday at Villa Erba where the crowd is wowed by an impressive collection of motorcycles on display on the lawn.

As part of BMW’s 100-year anniversary celebrations, the company brought together their full line-up of Hommage concepts accompanied by their original counterparts that inspired them. Two new concepts were also presented during the weekend. The 2002 Hommage and the BMW Motorrad R5 Hommage bike completed the “Hommage and Concept Vehicles” exhibition and perfectly embrace the motto of the event, "Back to the future, the journey continues"

As Photographer and Artist, Jochen has a passion for all things revolving around cars and motorsport. Capturing a moment in time, Jochen’s work emits energy and a love for detailing. Rather than polished, his work shows its subject in its essence and purity without being overworked. Portraying speed and adrenaline in a still image is very satisfying.

Belgian born Jochen spent his youth in several countries. Having lived in Belgium, South Africa, France, England and The Netherlands, he currently resides in Germany. This constant change combined with his love for travel serves as continuous inspiration for his creativity.

Jochen is Interior Design Director for the automotive start-up NEXTEV and prior to this he was Head of Interior Design for BMWi.
